Waking from the daze of new motherhood, with the realisation that all learned knowledge about business and life had to be re-evaluated. Rachel has been able to re-create herself to achieve a balance that enables her to share in the joy of watching a little person grow, develop a business, juggle domestic life and not lose the plot – too much!
Her combined experince as a business owner of 12 years, and a mum for 5½ years, she has learned a lot about life, business and herself. While it has not always been an easy ride, it has definitely been fulfilling. She feels a strong calling to share her discoveries (and the wisdom of other parents and experts) in a new book, When Business Meets Baby.
Rachel understands that business success can be achieved by all, and her passion is to help others to achieve their business dreams also. She draws strength by connecting like-minded people, creating pathways and business opportunities for people, especially women, who want to develop and grow their own business. In 2017 Rachel will become the Ballarat Branch Director for Business in Heels International.
Rachel’s expertise is in Integrated Digital Marketing, basically anything web based, she is a self proclaimed closet geek, and especially enjoys making life easier by use of online resources-which feeds her obsession to be organised in all areas of business and life. Her skills also include social media, branding, communication and marketing in general.
She has experience with many industries and a variety of business and organisation types from Government to Not For Profits and Small to Medium sized Business. Having operated and worked in a number of SMEs she has an understanding of the needs and pressures of business and particularly the owners. Rachel believes that with her experience she can provide the right advice to grow businesses, it is up to the business owner to listen and take action.
Rachel began her career working in local government at City of Ballarat and then Ararat Rural City Council in the economic development, events and tourism units. After 18 months working in Scotland in conferencing and hospitality, Rachel returned to Australia and renewed her career in project, marketing and event management before beginning Visionary in 2007.

Community involvement and Philanthropic causes are of strong importance to Rachel both professionally and personally. In 2015 she supported Eureka Mums with the organising of a Gala Dinner and she assists at the Ballarat Centre of Music and Arts (BCMA) as an artistic support co-ordinator. She has also been a Director and Secretary for BREAZE Inc, and been members of Federation University Children's Centre Education Reference Group. She is a founding member of Ballarat Business Women and has held the posts of Vice Chair and Chair.
She is available for guest speaking, workshop facilitation and guest blogging. Rachel is currently a facilitator and mentor for Motivating Mum, Central Highlands Digital Enterprise Program and Ballarat Business Centre. She currently writes and moderates for Project Mum, SavySME, Content Magazine, and AusMumpreneur. Rachel is also a regular delivering and facilitating workshops for Ararat Rural City Council, Pyrenees Shire Council and Ballarat Business Centre. She enjoys writing and speaking on topics connected with – starting and developing a business; social media; integrated marketing and being a mum in business.
Her purpose in business and life is to strengthen her networks and to use her expertise to help others. Through her business activities and also an increasing investment property portfolio she is aiming to create strong residual income. She is currently working toward a 'mobile business' that will allow more travel time with her family and their new Camper Trailer.
Ultimately she strives to be the best mum to an active and spirited 5.5 year old who keeps life interesting and full.
